Ambience

Instinct tells us that being in contact with the natural environment is beneficial to our well being, and the calming and restorative effects of being immersed in nature are scientifically proven.  This is where interior planting schemes are beneficial to you, your employees and your business.  By installing plants in your work environment you are bringing a bit of nature to an otherwise manmade environment

Dr Chris Knight from Exeter University and his fellow psychologists, who have been studying the issue for 10 years, concluded that employees were 15% more productive when "lean" workplaces are filled with just a few houseplants, as employees who actively engage with their surroundings are better workers. Air Quality

The air in an office is usually very dry, studies show that dry air has four main effects on the human body:

  1. Breathing dry air is a potential health hazard which can cause such respiratory ailments as asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, and nosebleeds, or general dehydration since body fluids are depleted during respiration.
  2. Skin moisture evaporation can cause skin irritations and eye itching.
  3. Irritative effects, such as static electricity which causes mild shocks when metal is touched, are common when the air moisture is low.
  4. The “apparent temperature” of the air is lower than the thermometer indicates, and the body “feels” colder. (Source: www.infoplease.com)

Office planting schemes increase the air humidity, making the office a more pleasant environment and far better for your employees health.

Offices are full of man made materials which leak low levels of chemicals, these along with other toxins such as from cleaning products and printers are reduced when plants are introduced to the office environment and CO2 levels are lowered by up to 50%.

Noise

Noise is another irritant in the office, ambient noise from printers, air conditioning and colleagues can be reduced by 5 decibels by using carefully placed plants.

The overall effect of these benefits is that absenteeism can be reduced by up to 10%.
